Loom SV McLaren Vale Shiraz 2015
Each year amongst all the faffing around we do in the Winery we select what we all agree is the pick of each crop and allocate the wine to the Loom SV range. It’s a somewhat legitimate process these days, albeit back when this one was made I’d be very surprised if it wasn’t more a case of me allocating my own vineyard to the label and tapping the accompanying increase in grape price. Hand picked from a particularly sandy patch of incredible old vines in MV Flat, open fermented and matured in a combination of new and seasoned oak for around 15 months, of which only the best were selected. Deliberately traditional in style and taste, we choose to release after 4 years to ensure it’s ready to roll from day one, albeit it should be more than capable of another 10 or 15 in a cool cellar.
