The 5OS Project Shiraz Roussanne 2018

Shiraz from our oldest Grower Nat McMurtrie and Roussanne from Yangarra were co fermented in 2t Open’s for approx. 10 days, other than combining a red and white variety, all pretty straight forward. We were aiming to make a fragrant, silky Shiraz without losing any of the traditional oomph and generosity our Region and the Variety are renowned for. It’s certainly expressive, lovely inky aromatics of real dark fruit entwined with black olives and soothing vanillan oak, the palate is ripe, soft and generous without being over blown. This is a super easy drink upon release and will remain for plenty of years ahead. Steve Grimley, Winemaker & Proprietor

About The 5OS Project

This is essentially our ‘Home Brand’. We make these wines ourselves and farm out others to mates, with the intention to create a range of wines that have heaps of drinkability but not at the expense of varietal, regional and vintage characteristics. They should also look the part, embracing the talent of the respective artists whilst encouraging them to find their own beat.

Aromatics: Dark and stewy, sweet oak, alluring
Palate: Chocolate, nougat, vanilla oak, balanced tannins
Finish: Medium finish with a slight plateau, oak and tanning hold it together
Cellaring: Enjoy now or cellar until 2027
