The 5OS Project Tempranillo Blend 2018

18 was a real nice Harvest in the regions we shimmy about, so when Andrea piped up with a ‘this is my pick of the Vintage’, even with her well know base level exuberance, there was at least a couple of us thinking all the Neb she drinks has finally taken its toll. She’s softened a bit now but remains very much a fully paid up flag bearer, and in fairness it is a lovely earthy textured glass of wine. A blend of Temp from Yangarra Durif from Oliver’s, Nero from Lopresti and 100+ yr old Grenache from our block if we were at the Magic Millions we’d be well out of our price range. Should continue to develop over the next 8-10 years.

About The 5OS Project

This is essentially our ‘Home Brand’. We make these wines ourselves and farm out others to mates, with the intention to create a range of wines that have heaps of drinkability but not at the expense of varietal, regional and vintage characteristics. They should also look the part, embracing the talent of the respective artists whilst encouraging them to find their own beat.

Aromatics: Intense fruit tones including black cherry, blueberry, blackcurrant and prune
Palate: Smoky and long, showing assertive tannin structure, a superb balancing acid line
Finish: Moreish, savoury finish
Cellaring: Best Before 2028
