The 5OS Project Adelaide Hills Arneis 2021

It’s nice to see Elisa Mazzone’s beautiful artwork back on a bottle of wine, it’s been years since we first used it on a Blewitt Springs Chenin which however relevant to this day is still drinking unreal. My first ever girlfriend’s name was Elissa, who from memory was also beautiful… either way this is one of my favourite labels and I’m pumped it’s back on the shelf.
Although with regards to actually drinking a bottle I’m virginal at this point, I do have a bottle here in front of me, hurried along by our creative team to keep the ‘TN’s up to date’ which has me suffering the inglorious indignation of not bathing in each of the wines before passing comment. So somewhat officially ‘lovely, piecing colour, touch hot on the palate but this should settle and expose plenty of appley goodness, the finish is chalky in a nice way, pure as’. Next time wait until after my bath.

About The 5OS Project

This is essentially our ‘Home Brand’. We make these wines ourselves and farm out others to mates, with the intention to create a range of wines that have heaps of drinkability but not at the expense of varietal, regional and vintage characteristics. They should also look the part, embracing the talent of the respective artists whilst encouraging them to find their own beat.

Aromatics: Fresh cooling menagerie of summer stone fruits and Melon
Palate: Sweetish, Waxy Cider Pears countered with a tartness aka Pomegranate
Finish: Nicely balanced, maybe a touch gentle/approachable in its youth
Cellaring: 5 years
