The 5OS Project Barbera 2018
Grown on one of the highest vineyards in the Vale, albeit not sure it’s high enough to be noticeable, especially with Barbera and all its jammy red fruits. This is super soft and approachable, even to the point of a touch of stewed warm fruit, Christmas pudding sort of thing. I find it a bit broad for my liking, but it’s certainly a really inviting drink laying somewhere between medium and full bodied and would be more than capable of holding up its end of the bargain with one of Dennis’s Pot Pies. Probably not the best option if it’s your kid’s birth year but should be nice and chirpy until 2024ish. Steve Grimley, Winemaker & Proprietor
About The 5OS Project
This is essentially our ‘Home Brand’. We make these wines ourselves and farm out others to mates, with the intention to create a range of wines that have heaps of drinkability but not at the expense of varietal, regional and vintage characteristics. They should also look the part, embracing the talent of the respective artists whilst encouraging them to find their own beat.
