The 5OS Project Malbec 2016

I originally started making wine off this vineyard (Lopresti Vineyard) in 2001 when working down the South East of Australia, and by the time we moved up to McLaren Vale I had formed a pretty strong relationship with it and the family who owns it. It’s always nice to say you’ve made wine from every harvest of a particular site; you establish a special bond that only time can foster, a type of ethereal knowledge of the ebb and flow of each vine throughout the subtle and not so subtle variations of the season. About The 5OS Project

This is essentially our ‘Home Brand’. We make these wines ourselves and farm out others to mates, with the intention to create a range of wines that have heaps of drinkability but not at the expense of varietal, regional and vintage characteristics. They should also look the part, embracing the talent of the respective artists whilst encouraging them to find their own beat.

Aromatics: Alluring dark fruits with a touch of development just starting to creep in
Palate: Inky, nice oak providing texture and sweetness, mid weight and well integrated
Finish: Plenty of sweet, raison like fruits bound with crisp lengthening tannins and noticeable acid
Cellaring: Best to 2025
