The 5OS Project Very Old Vine Shiraz 2015

Not sure why I have to write a tasting note on a wine that has 7 cases left in stock, luckily it’s a sort of interesting story as to its existence, notwithstanding the exquisite calligraphy on that moonlights in lieu of a label. This was classified as the wine of our 15 Harvest, and as such labelled as t=1. We ran out of corks with a little left in the filler so we flicked to screw cap and thought it would be a nice comparison in the years ahead, which it is… both are great and heaps of fun especially when trying to put a wine wanker in their place.

About The 5OS Project

This is essentially our ‘Home Brand’. We make these wines ourselves and farm out others to mates, with the intention to create a range of wines that have heaps of drinkability but not at the expense of varietal, regional and vintage characteristics. They should also look the part, embracing the talent of the respective artists whilst encouraging them to find their own beat.

Aromatics: Fragrant oak with lashing of milk chocolate and malt lifted by a touch of VA
Palate: Savoury with slightly drying tannins, big yet approachable
Finish: Tense yet super generous, tannins and acid tightly wound
Cellaring: Best to 2028
